Head's Welcome
On behalf of all the children, the staff and governors I would like to welcome you to St Helen's Church of England Primary School’s website.
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of this caring Christian school, with an excellent staff team, dedicated Governors, supportive parents, happy, engaged children and the support of a fantastic, forward-thinking Trust. We seek to recognise, value and nurture the individual qualities that make each child unique. Each of us brings our own skills, abilities, gifts and talents. We strive for all children to achieve their best academically and socially as they progress in their learning journey, looking forward in faith.
We are extremely proud of our voluntary aided church school status and our school vision (below) and 6 Christian values (Friendship, Hope, Trust, Forgiveness, Perseverance and Courage) lie at the very heart of every decision that is made in school.
Our school, together with family, church and community, offers a stable rock for learning, resilience and aspiration as we travel through life. We commit to create a dynamic environment, with Christian values at the heart, where the unique nature of each individual is respected and nurtured to enable life in all its fullness.
“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7: 25-27
We welcome all pupils to St Helen’s, regardless of race and religion and welcome those with any faith (including those with no faith) into the family that is St Helen’s. We teach children that our Christian values are those that all good people hold, no matter what their religion or beliefs are. These are taught alongside British Values.
We pride ourselves on delivering an exciting and engaging curriculum that is knowledge rich and there pupils learn more, know more and remember more as a result of high-quality teaching. Our staff care passionately about the education of the whole child and ensure that our pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
We received a Graded Ofsted Inspection in February 2023 where we were judged Good in all areas. We then received a SIAMS inspection in October 2023 where it was judged that we are living up to our foundation as a Church school. We were delighted with both of these outcomes and it is a testament to the hard work of everyone in our community.
Hopefully, our website will give you a flavour of what goes on at St Helen's, but if you feel you would like to see the school for yourself, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
With very best wishes
Lee Swift
