Food Hub
St Helen's CE Primary is proud to support our local school community in any way we can. One of the main ways we do this is becoming a food hub and supporting our families in anyway we can. We know during this pandemic and lockdowns, that families struggled and we made sure no families were without and continue to be without food.
National Breakfast Club
National School Breakfast Programme
St Helen's CE Primary is proud to have joined the government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.
As a NSBP School we are pleased to offer a healthy school breakfast, available to all, and enjoy the benefits that brings, with children settled and ready to learn at the start of the school day.
It is very important for every child to access a good, healthy breakfast to avoid not only hunger but other symptoms such as irritability, anger, poor concentration headaches and tiredness.
Access to Breakfast club
Breakfast club starts at 7.45am and is held in the dining room in school. We offer cereals, milk, water, fruit and bagels. The cost is £1.50 and this is to cover the staffing costs for your childcare.
Afterwards, there are games and activities in the hall.
Access for all
Aside from the Breakfast club, all children will have the opportunity to taste delicious bagels on a daily basis at the start of their school day. If you have any queries regarding the breakfast opportunities we have at St Helen's CE Primary, please come in and speak to a member of staff or alternatively pop into the office.
